Wednesday Wednesdsay

As part of my posts, I'm going to talk about why I choose certain pieces and the memories they invoke. It seems fitting that I start this off with Wednesday Addams on this Wednesday Wednesday, as a reminder my oldest school friend.  In 1991 'The Addams Family' was released, and it was also the year I met my first best friend, Jess. She moved to Sydney from the UK and started at my prep school part way through the year. I was assigned to help look after her on her first day, and we've been buddies ever since. We were the sort of buddies that were invited to each other's siblings birthday parties, and are still lucky to be in touch 30 years later. We spent many a weekened at each other's houses, planning visits around  Lois and Clarke, the new Adventures of Superman or begging our parents to let us rent either The Addams Family or Addams Family Values from the video store for the umpteenth time. Oh, and we were obsessed with Wednesday - constantly doing our best i...

Thanksgiving 2020

Thanksgiving is one of my favourite holidays, as it's something I didn't grow up with in Australia. It's roots date back to an end of harvest celebration, and is a completely secular holiday, not to mention that Autumn in Canada is simply gorgeous, and looks like something out of the movies! I like to write up some thoughts for what I'm thankful for, and this is definitely no exception. I'm grateful for old friends, and new, in particular some new friends I've made as a result of my interest in style. I'm grateful to all the wonderful makers that have put a smile on my dial with your beautiful pieces, all made with love, and finally I'm grateful for the little push the pandemic gave me to finally get the help I need.  I know that Mental Health cases are on the rise this year, and I quite frankly I'm...

World Mental Health Day

Today is World Mental Health Day. It's been a tough year for me, and for everyone, but it's also been an unexpected adventure in style. So what do the two have to do with each other? Well, putting together my little outfits each day has really helped me get through everything. It's helped me feel good about myself, helped give me a creative outlet, and quite honestly, helped me get up and out of bed, and changed in the morning. After writing my Salesforce Blog for a few years, I hit a bit of a creative stalemate, but I'm finally feeling like writing again! I'm going to continue to write that blog, but I've decided to start something new to talk about my favourite outfits and my mental health.  Growing up, I've always gravitated to more colourful items, but I always remember worrying about wearing something that was too "much", maybe too colourful, or patterned. Last year when I was visiting home in Sydney, I noticed a very distinctive style sub-cul...
